● Excitation of luminescent materials: Excitation of luminescent materials is to input energy into the material so that the electrons inside it jump to a higher energy level. This energy input can be light energy (such as light irradiation), heat energy or electric field, etc. In luminescent ribbons, these energy inputs may come from the irradiation of external light sources (such as car lights, flashlights, etc.), or through some mechanism inside the ribbon (such as chemical reactions, current passing, etc.).
● Radiation process: When electrons jump back to a lower energy level in an excited state, energy is released and converted into the form of light. This process is called spontaneous radiation. In some materials, when current passes through, carriers (such as electrons) collide with other ions or molecules in the material, thereby stimulating them to jump to a higher energy level. When these excited particles return to the ground state, photons are released and visible light is generated. This process is called stimulated radiation.
● Mechanisms specific to glowing webbing: The reflective materials in glowing webbing (such as reflective threads, reflective strips, etc.) usually contain tiny glass beads or prismatic structures that can reflect incident light back at a specific angle, forming a bright reflective effect.
